PlayStation Showcase May 2023: Date, Times & Where To Watch
Strap in folks, this could be a big one.
Usually we have to wait until June for the huge game announcements to start, but Sony have decided that they’re tired of waiting, revealing that they’re hosting a PlayStation Showcase next week, and we’re all invited to watch. If seeing the future of the PS5 and PSVR2 seems like your idea of a good time, this is all the information you need to know about the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase.
The newest instalment of the PlayStation Showcase will take place on May 24th, 2023 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST.
If you’re interested in watching the PlayStation Showcase, you’ll be able to tune in via the official PlayStation social channels on YouTube and Twitch.
According to the announcement post from PlayStation, we can expect just over an hour of announcements and reveals for PS5 and PSVR2 titles. The showcase promises sneak peeks at "several new creations" from PlayStation Studios and affiliated development houses, along with a host of third party games and indie titles.
As for specifics or predictions, this Showcase could be the time we’ll see more on the PlayStation exclusive Silent Hill 2 remake, along with perhaps the long-rumoured Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Keeping it third party, NetherRealm Studios could also use this Showcase to officially reveal Mortal Kombat 1, the new game in the franchise that's been teased and leaked for the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, it's a bit more difficult to predict what new creations we could see from PlayStation Studios, but Sony could use the May 2023 Showcase to lift the lid on the next instalment of their superhero franchise, Spider-Man 2. With only a CGI trailer and 2023 release date to go off of, people are clamouring to see more of what Peter Parker and Miles Morales can do, especially against Venom. Hopefully, we’ll see more at this PlayStation Showcase.
